This week marked the beginning of Semester B, which unfortunately opened on Zoom due to the war. Despite the situation, we presented the work we had done over the semester break and felt excited to show our progress.
We also began working with Aviad, the industrial designer, which is a very exciting step for us as we move into the design and development of the physical product. After spending a long time thinking through the concept itself and refining the scenario in the last few months, it feels meaningful to finally start shaping the product.
This week, we worked on our mood board and looked for a lot of inspiration for the product. We started exploring the world of middle school students more deeply, what they like and dislike, what kinds of wearable products they already use, what design elements might speak to them, and even what different bracelet colors could communicate.
At the same time, we also began diving deeper into the technological side of the product. Maayan and Barbara started working with Inbar to think through which components would be the best fit for building our solution. Our main challenge at this stage is figuring out how to measure proximity and create interaction between students in the “proximity mode.”
Overall, it feels like we have entered a new and exciting phase of the project, one that brings with it many new questions, challenges, and directions to think about.
