This week, we had significant developments in all aspects of our project -

from technology and prototyping, to the final video and research documentation.

This week marked a major breakthrough in our physical product. After many design iterations, we finally reached a model where the buttons receive enough physical support and added a battery switch to improve usability. With a lot of help from our mentor, inbar, especially in soldering and assembling the prototypes, we successfully built two fully working models both technologically and aesthetically. this models has both the new design and new feedback mechanisms that we added in the past weeks.

We returned with the new prototypes to middle school students for another round of user testing, and the feedback was mostly positive. The transition from a square design to a cylindrical and more modern-looking product stood out immediately, and the students especially loved the added interactivity and colorful light feedback when turning the device on.

This week we also focused on refining our final presentation video and sharpening the overall concept and storytelling. Our goal moving forward is to continue improving the video week by week until it fully communicates the product and experience in the best possible way.

On the research side, we continued working on the Design chapter, documenting the key decisions we made throughout the year and the reasoning behind them. We focused on clearly explaining how user interviews, quotes, and academic literature influenced our decisions, in order to present our full design process step by step.

Overall, this week gave us a huge boost of motivation and made us feel that all the work we invested throughout the year is finally becoming a real, meaningful, and functioning product. With just a few more improvements, we’re almost there.
